OMERS Global Credit Legal Intern (July - December 2025)

Description

OMERS, one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, is seeking a motivated law student or recent graduate for a Legal Intern position within its Global Credit team in Singapore. This role offers an opportunity to engage in private credit investments across Asia Pacific, including senior and mezzanine lending, co-investments, and leverage facilities. 

Internship Duration: July - December 2025 

Key Responsibilities:

• Legal Support: Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents such as NDAs, wall-crossings, investment authorizations, and corporate secretarial documents.
• Transactional Assistance: Support the investment process by liaising with external legal counsel and internal teams, and assisting with signing and closing mechanics.
• Compliance and Documentation: Aid in satisfying KYC requests and managing legal operational matters for Singapore-incorporated investment vehicles.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with compliance, finance, operations, tax, and trading teams within OMERS.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a law program in Singapore, England and Wales, or a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Interest or knowledge in private credit investing, including understanding of covenant packages, security perfection, and enforcement mechanisms.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to interact with a broad range of professionals.
• Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and capable of multitasking effectively in a dynamic environment
